These costumes are fairly easy to make letting you get out of the store and take part in the fun.

Five Dress Patterns for the Renaissance Festival

Simplicity 1551 Misses Renaissance Queen Gown in size 18-24 UNCUT

What is it about a Renaissance Festival or Medieval Fair that makes them so attractive? The time in history was difficult for almost all. Disease, poverty for all but a few, high crime rates yet when we see the long, flowing gowns we let out a big, collective sigh. I think the chess matches with human chess pieces are cool....although I don't think I would want to be one of the pawns. I couldn't stand still long enough.
Not all of us would be a princess living in a  castle and wear gorgeous gowns and furs but one can wish.  Here's a few patterns to help make that dream come true at the next festival.....or wedding.
